It is impossible for him to tell a lie, because he himself is Truth! He deceives no one and no one deceives him, for apart from him there is no reality. He deals with everything and everyone exactly the way they are, and he knows what that is because he made everything and everyone. That place is the book of God, the Bible. In a world generously supplied with con-artists, pitchmen, wordy politicians, and outright liars, it is a great relief to know there is a place where one can always hear the truth-the truth plainly and simply put, without fear or favor. But has God a plan for my life? If so, how may I know it and what is involved in finding it? These and many other questions demand an answer. (Acts 22: 10) Little wonder Saul of Tarsus asked the question the very moment of his new birth: “What shall I do, Lord?” Did Saul’s conversion just “happen”? was it by “chance” that he was suddenly converted on the Damascus road, or was it according to a divine plan and purpose? Acts 9:15 tells us that it certainly was “according to plan” – God’s plan/script. Thus the phonechurch “practices what it preaches”. “…was confirmed in you.” – This is reference to the fact that the transformation of lives is a proof of the truth of the gospel message. What is “the testimony concerning Christ”? This is a reference to the gospel message, the message that Paul was preaching and the Corinthians accepted (see also 1 Cor 1.18).Ģ. Thus the true church is a learning church.ġ. “…and all knowledge.” – the word knowledge here refers to the process of taking in knowledge. Thus the true church proclaims God’s message.Ģ. “…in all speech.” – This should be understood as a proclaimed message. Thus the true church is changed by the grace of God rather than the efforts of man.ġ. What are the marks or characteristics of a true church of God?Ģ. He can tell this from the evidence he sees in their lives. This passage represents Paul’s expression of thanks that the church at Corinth was a true church of God. it is a gathering of believing saints in the name of the Lord Jesus and must have a definite leadership it’s not a peer group(1Corth 12:28) The Local church is God’s design or God’s wisdom (1Corth.5:9). So primarily it means an assembly of people called out You alone cannot be the church
